From rock bottom to beekeeping — how one man's journey of recovery built a company dedicated to doing what's best for the hive.
How It All Began
Beekeeping found Jason Schuckert in early June of 2022. At the time, he was at the lowest point in his life — battling addiction and unable to sustain any real relationship or stability. In May of 2022, Jason hit rock bottom and made the decision to change his life.
A friend introduced him to beekeeping, and from that first moment with the bees, something clicked. Jason used this new passion to replace unhealthy habits, and it helped save his life.

Having struggled with PTSD and ADHD since childhood, Jason found in beekeeping the peace and purpose he'd been searching for. The hive became his therapy — a living, breathing reminder that when everyone works together toward a common goal, incredible things happen.
The Turning Point
Throughout his journey of learning this new craft, Jason was blessed to meet the Stark County bee inspector who took him under his wing and showed him the deeper art of beekeeping. One day, the inspector took Jason to meet his equipment supplier — and suddenly, everything clicked.
Jason realized that his past 15 years of experience in lumber and furniture manufacturing could be focused into something he was going to be passionate about for the rest of his life. The skills he'd built over years of working with wood had found their ultimate purpose.
In spring of 2025, The Honey Hole Inc. was born.

We glue all of our finger joints with premium Titebond adhesive. No shortcuts, no compromises — just solid, lasting craftsmanship.
Built From Experience
With 15 years of lumber and furniture manufacturing experience, we bring professional-grade quality to every hive body, frame, and component.
Local & Sustainable
We source locally whenever possible, working with Amish-made suppliers in Ohio. Our goal is to reduce our carbon footprint and keep our neighbors working.
The Farm
The Honey Hole apiary and operation are located on a 34-acre, third-generation family farm in Guernsey County, Ohio — just six miles east of Salt Fork State Park.
Our products are manufactured whenever possible from recycled materials, and what we can't make ourselves is sourced from Amish-made suppliers right here in Ohio. We believe in consistently looking for better ways to do things, and that working smart is just as important as working hard.
